Surf Instructor Training

Raven Surf School is also an ASI Instructor Training Centre (ITC). Mike is an ASI Level 4 Trainer (the highest level attainable in the world) and is authorised to train others to be ASI accredited surfing instructors. Academy of Surf Instructor (ASI) Level 1 and 2 Surf Instructor qualifications. ASI is a worldwide organisation, specialising in offering surf instructor training courses, education and surf school accreditation as well as having comprehensive learn to surf books, DVD's and student workbooks for schools and colleges. ASI qualifications are Internationally recognised and graduates of the ASI courses can gain employment with ASI Accredited surf Schools throughout the world.

Level 1 surfing instructor training course is your first step in becoming a surfing instructor. This 3 day workshop course is the best course in the world today. Packed with loads of information, the course is an intensive and comprehensive format on how to safely deliver lessons, group student management, lesson planning and multiple scenarios, time for discussion and analysis. At the end of this course you will be prepared to start delivering lessons with confidence and a ready to use format.

Before enrolling, you must have ASI intermediate surfer level or above surfing skill and knowledge

Level 2 surfing instructor training course. Go the next step in your surfing instructor career. This course is for instructors who already have advanced level surfing skill and a minimum of 12 months Level 1 Surfing Instructor experience. You will learn the skills and techniques to coach advanced level surfing skills and knowledge, assess student's performance and create individualised training programs to improve students ability

Entry requirements (level 2)

Before enrolling, you must have:

Advanced level surfing skill and knowledge
Current Level 1 Surfing Instructor accreditation Minimum of 12 months recent continuous accredited surfing instruction experience

All surf coaches require a Surf Life Saving certificate we offer the Surf Coach Safety and Rescue which is a certificate designed by the SLSGB for surf coaches and can be used globally along side your ASI certificates.
